is always an
adventure

Welcome to Our Centre

Discover our boutique Sunnynook Childcare Centre, nestled away on Auckland's North Shore. We are a small family run centre where every child's unique journey is celebrated. Welcome to a place where small moments lead to big discoveries!

At Rainbow Adventurers, we believe the best way to learn is through play and adventure. We create a safe and nurturing environment for your child to explore and grow.

Care is tailored to the needs of your child and we offer a high ratio of staff to children.

Frequently asked questions

Do you provide meals?

We offer Morning tea, lunch and Afternoon tea.  This is prepared offsite by a catering company.

Are nappies or formula provided by the centre?

No, we do not provide nappies or formula although our centre does provide wipes and as well as a reapplication of sunscreen during the child's stay. We encourage parents to apply the first layer of sunscreen prior to drop-off.

What is the transition/settling in process?

We will discuss with you what the best plan is for your child in regards to settling them into our centre.

While every child is different, we may recommend two to three pre-visits to best support your child in this transition as much as yourself.

Are you open all year round?

Yes, we are open Monday-Friday all year-round except for statutory bank holidays.

What is the adult-to-child ratio?

In early childhood education, a ratio signifies the maximum number of children under the care of each adult educator.

At Rainbow Adventurers, we strive to offer a low teacher ratio. Our ratio for the under two's area is 1:4 (1 teacher for every 4 children). Our ratio for the over two's areas is 1:8. Ministry requirements for ratios are 1:5 for under two's and 1:10 for over two's.

How do I apply for ECE funding?

The process is quite seamless for parents.

If your child is 3 years old or over, you can benefit from the government subsidy of 20 hours. We will take care of the forms and ask you to sign them.

Some families may be eligible for a WINZ subsidy, please contact us for more information.
